Mining Carbide Tipped Drill Rod is used to manufacture hammers, files, and punches. These drill rods include drill bits, taps, dowel pins, shafts, and reamers. These are not heavily alloyed, moreover allow the material to be more easily machined than the oil hardened variety. These are hardened through heating. Mining Carbide Tipped Drill Rod is heated and then quenched in water or oil units. These are brittle and should be tempered through mild heating and quenching to draw back the hardness.
